호주-일본전이 열렸던 어제 밤.
가장 고생이 많았던 사람은 누구인가.
그것은 단연, 방송 3사의 캐스터 및 해설자들이었다고 본다.
일본 vs 히딩크가 감독하는 팀 경기에서 중립적 태도, 객관적 관찰자 시점, 냉정한 제3자의 태도 뭐 이런 걸 연출하는 일, 그거 생각만큼 쉬운 일이 아님을 본지는 잘 알고 있다.
특히, 3사 해설자 중 가장 실감나는 중립적 태도 시뮬레이션을 보여 준 KBS 이용수 해설위원의 연기력은 개중 압권이었다 할 것이다.
다만, 일본팀의 골이 들어갔을 때와, 호주팀의 골이 들어갔을 때의 목소리 볼륨의 차가 지나치게 컸던 점은 아쉬운 점으로 지적된다. 바란스에 좀 더 신경을 쓰시라.
여튼, 어젯 밤 잠 거의 못잤을 것으로 예상되는 호주 네티즌들의 반응이다.

Here we come the one the only SOCCEROOS. All I can say is justice was done today, Japan in no way in the world deserved to win. Australia dominated pretty much the whole game and the goal that Japan scored was a clear and deliberate foul so much so the referee even apologised for it and thanked god himself that the socceroos had won!!! The scoreline reads Australia 3 Japan 1 but it could have so easily been Australia 5 or 6 and Japan 0 with the amount of chances that the Australians created. Go the SOCCEROOS!!!! and how good was Timmy Cahill’s celebration, the little boxer, bang bang bang and Japan got knocked out!!! Bring on Brazil

우리는 하나다, 오직 싸커루. 내가 하고 싶은 말은, 오늘 정의가 실현됐다는 거다. 일본은 절대 이길 수 없었다. 호주는 전 경기를 주도했고, 일본이 넣은 골은, 심판이 사과를 하고 호주팀이 이긴 걸 신께 감사해야 할 만큼 아주 명백하고 의도적인 파울이었다!!! 점수는 3대1이었지만, 호주가 만들어냈던 기회까지 본다면 5대 빵 혹은 6대 빵으로 호주가 이길 게임이었다. 아자 싸커루!!!! 티미 카힐의 골세레머니는 정말 멋졌다, 작은 박서, 빵 빵 빵 그리고 일본은 나가떨어졌지!!! 덤벼라 브라질.

That’s was a brilliant performance by the Aussies. Japan are supposed to be champions of ASIA. Well it doesn’t look it. That was a dismal performance. You had only a few chances and they were all wasted! The Aussies dominated the game. The first goal by Japan should not have been allowed but regardless it stood and the never say die attitude by the Aussies destroyed the Japanese team in the end. Totally deserved win go the AUSSIES.

정말 훌륭한 호주선수들의 플레이였다. 일본이 아시아 챔피언으로 얘기되던데, 글쎄 그런 거 같지 않은데. 참담한 플레이였다. 너희들은 기회가 몇 번 있었을 뿐이었고, 것도 모두 날리고 말았다. 호주가 경기를 주도했다. 일본의 첫 골은 인정되어서는 안 되는 골이었지만 그러나 인정되었고, never-say-die의 태도를 지닌 오씨들은 결국 일본팀을 파괴했다. 전체적으로 마땅한 승리가 오씨들에게 주어졌다.

What can I say, but WOW. 3 goals in 7 mins and we win 3-1 against Japan after being an unfair goal down at half time. What a great performance by our guys, and in particular Tim Cahill to come back with less than 10 minutes left on the clock. (전략) Stop talking about an ‘unfair goal’, because if you want to do that you have to say that Cahill’s second goal was ‘unfair’. At that point, he’s not even supposed to be on the pitch anymore. Seconds earlier, already booked, he clearly fouled a Japanese in the Penalty Box: which is a Penalty and his second yellow card. Either you mention both ‘irregularities’ or none. Wrong decisions by the ref are part of the sport. Teams have to deal with it - Australia did, good on them!
And I’d be careful with saying ‘Bring it on Brazil’.

I think Guss Hiddink is a legend and pretty much everyone loves him so I’m happy to put it down to his brilliance than anything else. I thought Luke Wilshire didn’t have a particularly good game but he was probably a bit worried after the red card in the dutch friendly which was unfortunate. Good to see Guss has confidence in him though. I don’t think there were any real problems tactically in the first half or second really its just Australia couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net even though they had something like a 10 shots to one on goal at half time.

거스 히딩크는 전설이라고 생각한다.
다른 무엇보다 그의 탁월함을 여기다 쓸 수 있어서 내가 기쁜 만큼이나 모두들 그를 아주 많이 사랑한다고 생각한다. 루크 윌셔는 특별히 좋은 게임을 했다고 생각하지 않지만, 아마도 (지난 평가전에서의) 레드카드 이후 약간 동요했던 것 같다. 그럼에도 거스는 그를 믿었다.
경기 전후반전에 전술적인 문제가 있었다고는 생각하지 않는다. 다만, 비록 경기 중반 열 개 중 하나가 골과 비슷한 슛이긴 했음에도 그것이 네트 안으로 들어가지 않았을 뿐인 거다.

지난 밤 굉장한 승리였다. 모든 선수들의 굉장한 노력이 있었다. 일본이 터트린 문제가 많은 첫골에 대해 그들은 부끄러워해야 한다. 그러나 이날 최고의 팀이 승리한 거다. 우리의 체력조건과 인내력은 우세했다. 잘했다.
